"Modern" circuit of a radio transmitter some 60 yrs old It was that book called "Radio for Beginners" I picked up as a kid and became obsessed with building something in it. It promised recieving exotic signals for a world away from the world of today in a childs mind, not knowing the future all things technical technical and how obsolete everything would become. Nevertheless, a hobby was created and the future mattered not. For half a lifetime, that great feeling one had built something from almost nothing or assembled, tested and made a functional product was a joy in itself. Foremost, I was gathering knowledge most invaluable to me. In the upcoming years, it seemed easy to comprehend the transitions from basic electronics and now crued circuits to the digital realm we now live in. From the "razor blade" Foxhole crystal set, fascination overwhelmed me and it was no stopping then. I suppose it may somewhat of a personality trait, for this mind even carried out in most endeavours in life like that attic in one house I had that I turned into a lovely loft. Before that, I knew nothing of carpentry, but damn, I learned fast with mistakes of course. But, alas, the praise I got when I finished it was overwhelming , but the satisfaction it gave me was more overwhelming. It is with great satisfaction today to be bringing you this Webpage not from learning any course at all, but from constant trial and error from primal HTML to automatic formatting programs, it was the inquisitivity and imaginings to learn the unknown. As it was yesterday, so it is today.I will focus mainly on radio electronics , Amateur Radio, Shortwave Radio and related Computer interfacing for signal reception.

It is my hope that this site will be an inspiration to all
those young and old who love to learn how things are done and what makes things tick. In
this one hobby of mine, I have learned one most valuable fact. The key to what makes
electronic devices work. It's smoke of course, because when the smoke leaks out, it
doesn't darn work anymore. A pun of course, but the ancients might have percieved that as
such.In this site, there will be links to associated places of interest, as well as a
wealth of hobby circuits and various information to the electronics or radio hobbyist.
There will be, infact, many older circuits including tube designs which I have either
built, constructed or tested. There will be reference to computers and the marrying of
computers to radio. From the earliest inception of Computers as the Timex Sinclair, Atari,
and Commodore models, I have always used them is some sort of form in electronics whether
it being keeping a small database to using them for decoding purposes for various modes of
digital transmission decoding mainly on the shortwave radio bands. A good basic knowlege
of electronics and schematic reading would be required to make many of the circuits on
this site, but it's not hard to learn and there are myriad books at used book stores on
the subject. Once one endeavours one, they get the feel of it. A good start would be to
buy a kit of some sort, of which are still selling well. Only these days, the kits use
advanced circuit boards, chips and high tech electronics. I will post many circuits for experimenters in electronics hobbyists and perhaps many I have built or experimented with and still use today. Keep posted.
